Ernie has developed his coaching skills by going through two different coaching pathways, via the LTA and PTR.
Ernst at only 14 years old helped coach at his local club as an assistant during summer camps. This is where he knew this was the career path. He then went to the University of Greenwich to do BSc in Sport Science and Professional Tennis Coaching. Where he represented and captained the first team also being rewarded with a university blue at the end of his tenure. Ernst’s first full role was working for Sunsale Holidays in Turkey where he delivered coaching sessions for holidays makers of all standards and ages. The following year he worked for Mark Warner Holidays as the head of tennis developing and running the tennis program in Italy. He then came back to the UK working for Grenwich Council in the schools and park programs. Then he joined Crescent Lawn Tennis Club where he exceled and within three months he was promoted to head coach where he has been ever since overseeing the program and growing the club.
Ernie has since become a level 4 coach, trained in cardio tennis, become a first aider and coaching players of all standards from recreation to performance.
He still competes on a British tour, also plays in the top tier of both Kent and North Kent competitions with his current ranking 3.2 and he is hoping to gain a world ranking in the over 35’s.
